Behind the scenes: Masterclass September 2026

At Alma de Muras, the art of creation is at the heart of everything we do.

A wall is more than a surface. Texture, colour and light come together to shape the atmosphere and character of an interior. It is precisely this interplay between material, technique and craftsmanship that we explored during our masterclasses on 16 and 17 September in Oudenburg.

In this behind-the-scenes glimpse, we invite you into the heart of our atelier. From the first layer to the refined final finish, every movement has purpose. The material demands attention, the technique requires mastery, and the final result emerges from the dialogue between the two.

Together with the Giorgio Graesan team and a group of dedicated professionals, we immersed ourselves in the brand’s distinctive Italian decorative techniques and materials. Knowledge and experience were shared, techniques refined and possibilities explored.

This is where craftsmanship and creativity meet — and where a wall becomes more than a finish. A surface takes on depth, movement and character.

Craftsmanship is not only something you see. It is something you experience in the material, in the light and in the space.

Segui il tuo Istinto – Pietra Spaccata

A surface defined by character, movement and light.

With Pietra Spaccata, Segui il tuo Istinto takes on a distinctive, almost geological character. The technique creates a lively surface in which texture and relief continuously interact. Rather than simply reflecting light, the surface breaks and reshapes it, allowing the wall to change subtly throughout the day.

During the masterclass, we explore more than the technique itself. We look at how the surface is built, how the material is moved, and how the choice of tools and application techniques influences the final character.

The result is not an imitation of stone, but a contemporary interpretation of it — tactile, natural and distinctly architectural.

Segui il tuo Istinto – Pietra Zen

Calm does not come from the absence of texture, but from finding the right balance within it.

Pietra Zen translates the natural character of stone into a refined and contemporary wall surface. The movement is more subtle, the texture more controlled, allowing light to travel gently across the surface.

During the masterclass, we explore how Segui il tuo Istinto can be used to create a surface that feels both natural and refined. Small differences in movement, pressure and timing all contribute to the character of the final result.

A technique for interiors where the material does not demand attention, yet always offers something new to discover.

Marmorino 2020

The essence of a classic lime finish, translated into a contemporary language.

Marmorino 2020 combines the characteristic depth and refinement of Venetian plaster with a modern, architectural expression. Through its layered application and polishing, the surface brings colour, material and light together in a subtle interplay.

During the masterclass, the focus is on precision: surface preparation, the movement of the trowel, the building of the layers and the moment when the surface acquires its final depth and refinement.

This is where material becomes craftsmanship. A smooth surface becomes more than a finish — it gains depth, nuance and a character of its own.

Spatula Stuhhi Highlight

Light as a material.

Spatula Stuhhi Highlight gives the wall a refined mineral character in which light and movement take centre stage. Its distinctive nuances emerge through the way the material is applied, worked and polished.

The technique requires a sense of timing and control. The trowel is not simply a tool; it becomes part of the process that determines how light will ultimately move across the wall.

During the masterclass, we explore how to build these subtle variations and reflections, and how small differences in application can create a distinctly different result.

A finish that never demands attention, yet quietly holds it.

Euphoria

A wall that changes with the light.

Euphoria plays with colour, movement and subtle reflection. The surface takes on a soft, vibrant character in which different nuances do not simply sit alongside one another, but flow naturally into each other.

The beauty of the technique lies in controlling the unexpected. The movement of the material, the way individual layers meet and the interaction with light together shape the final expression.

During the masterclass, we explore how to build this sense of depth and movement, creating a surface rich in nuance without losing its sense of calm.

Euphoria is not a static wall finish. It is a surface that lives.

A special word of thanks goes to the Giorgio Graesan team in Italy.
