My Story
I am Johan Cuyt, owner of Jo’s Decoratiewerken and the driving force behind Alma de Muras. For more than twenty years, I have dedicated myself to painting and decorative finishes, driven by a fascination with colour, texture and the distinctive character of expressive walls.
My passion began in childhood and took shape during my painting and decoration studies at VTI in Ostend. After gaining a few months of experience in the advertising industry and spending several years working for a reputable painting company, I founded my own business in 2006.
From craftsmanship to refined wall finishes
Alongside traditional painting, I continued to explore faux marble and decorative techniques. I am particularly drawn to the interplay of material, light and texture. To me, a wall is more than a surface: it can create depth, define a space and bring an interior to life.
An Italian connection
With Giorgio Graesan & Friends, I discovered a unique combination of material expertise, technical craftsmanship and artistic freedom that reflects my own vision. From our atelier and showroom in Oudenburg, I bring these Italian wall finishes to Belgium as exclusive distributor and partner in their professional application.
Creating together
I enjoy collaborating with interior architects, designers and craftspeople to translate ideas into the right materials, colours and textures. Through regular training in Italy, I continue to deepen my knowledge and refine my skills.
Through Alma de Muras, I bring together craftsmanship and creativity, Italian material expertise and my own experience. Guided by one belief: a wall can be more than a surface. It can give an interior its own soul.
